A New Year!
With a new year comes lots of excitement ~ new endeavors, new challenges, new adventures...the list goes on. Every year around this time, people start to make lists of things that they would like to change in the new year. The other day, I read an oracle card that said "Doing nothing does not mean that nothing is being done". I like that. This year, instead of looking at it as what I am not going to do, I am going to look at it as what I am already doing..and try to keep it simple. Instead of cutting things out of my diet, I will find alternatives and substitutions to things that I like. Instead of whole milk in my tea, I will use almond milk...or instead of that Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie Ice Cream, maybe I will treat myself to coconut milk ice cream...or instead of those nachos, I will...well, I may still do that. I also decided that this year, (due to my over-excessivness at the holidays) I would give myself the gift of Myara's Power Plate Class. Power Plate has the So for the next six weeks, every Tuesday at 8am, you will find me at Harmony Studios in West Hollywood. Yesterday was my first class. It kicked my ass. Over the next six weeks, I will keep you posted on my thoughts on the class and my accomplishments. I can't wait!
So whether its a warm bath, getting under the covers early a few times a week, or reading a good book (the list goes on) its important to give your body not only what it wants, but what it deserves. This year lets make a vow to treat ourselves and each other with the utmost respect, care and kindness. Instead of creating strict guidelines and rules, lets try and live freely and in the moment. Lets fuel our bodies with clean food and feed our minds with interesting people, activities and thoughts. This is what the Vibrant Beet is all about ~ living your life vibrantly through food, art, entertainment, adventure, education and the people and world that surrounds you.
Happy New Year!
