Easy-To-Make Almond Milk
Almond milk is a very popular and tasty alternative to cows milk and soy milk (which often, people have allergies towards). Almond milk, made from the gorgeous almond nut, is easy to make and its creaminess makes it delish! It is high in vitamins and gives us a good amount of calcium that we need to build strong, healthy bones - plus its only about 70 calories per cup! You can buy your own almond milk at most grocery stores, but its worth making your own...that way you know exactly what is in it, and its super fresh! Keeps for up to 3 days in the fridge. Try it out...
Sweet tip: Add a few seedless dates if you like (depending on sweetness...I like 4-5), 1 tsp of vanilla and a little bit of sea salt (a pinch or so) in with the almonds and water. Blend until smooth! (you can always add more dates, vanilla or sea salt after you taste depending)
Cooking/beauty tip: You can use the leftover almond pulp that remains in the cheesecloth after extracting the milk to bake a pie crust...or use it for an all natural face mask! Waste not. Want not.
