Endless Summer Cocktail!
A few weeks back I was handed a beautiful looking cocktail made by my friend, Sara. I am more of a wine drinker, but as soon as I took my first sip of this liquid gem, I was transported to a place of pure joy, relaxation and happiness...summer in a glass. It was earthy and herbaceous, super refreshing and had all the right components that an adult beverage should exude. It also went down all too smooth. Can a cocktail really take over ones body and senses like this you ask? The answer is simple...YES. See below for Sara's perfectly balanced cocktail and thank me (and Sara) later.
Ingredients: - 1 1/2 ounces vodka (Sara likes like Tito's) - 1/2 ounce Aperol - 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed grapefruit juice - a plethora of Rosemary sprigs - ice *or just use your intuition in the mix
Directions: In a mixing glass add ingredients. Add ice. Stir, mix, whatever...just shake it up. Top with a sprig or two of Rosemary. Sip. Smile. Repeat with caution. *In addition, I also think it would be a nice idea to sweeten it up a bit by using Lauren's Rosemary Simple Syrup Recipe in the mix. Just riffing.
WARNING: Too many of these cocktails may result in you and your adult friends acting like children and jumping off of a jetty and into the perfect body of water. Proceed with caution ~ and don't say I didn't warn ya! Let's not forget about this cocktail when we are bundled up in warm jackets, wrapped in scarves and layering on the sweaters, okay?
