Happy Thanksgiving Vibrant Beeters! We hope that you are spending your day surrounded by good friends, family, lots of love, and lots of food! Every Thursday, for the last few months, we’ve been posting an article about a piece of news that makes you smile and highlights the positive things that are going on all around us. Today, I am grateful that amidst all of the dark, heavy, and sometimes horrible news, there is still a plentiful helping of happy news!
On a day that is all about coming together, giving thanks, and practicing gratitude, here are a couple of festive pieces of news to make you smile!
--- Lexington, Kentucky you know what’s up! Did you know that for the second year in a row, the citizens of Lexington are allowed to pay off their parking violations with canned food for local food banks?
This “Food for Fines” program runs through December 18. You can pay a $15 fine with 10, 15 ounce cans of food. If it’s a more expensive fine, the parking authority is willing to accept even more cans!
Last year, citizens paid off more than 600 citations, thus taking it 6,200 cans of food, an effort worth about $14,000!!!

George Dimopoulos, owner of George's Senate Coney Island Restaurant in Northville, Michigan is offering FREE meals all day today to anyone who is alone. This is something George has been doing for the last 10 years!
When George moved to the U.S. from Greece back in 1969 at the young age of 23, he said he can remember days when he had nothing and felt alone. He wanted to do something to give back. "I do for the people who don't have anybody home," said Dimoupolos. "One time I was alone. One time I didn't have food. Somebody did it for me."
You’re the man, George! ---
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! May your day be as full with love as your belly is with food!
