Pilates:Harmony Studios

     What: A beautiful and airy Pilates Studio that reminds me of a combination of a tree house and a New York Style loft.  With 3 different equipment rooms, you can choose from decompressing the joints with traction as well as lifting your own body weight with TRX straps in the front room, strengthening and stretching with the circular movements of gyrotonics in the middle room, or strengthening the core and elongating the muscles with Pilates in the back room. 
Why: Because every teacher there is knowledgeable, energetic and different. You can choose from taking a 6 person reformer class, a private session or a semi-private session.

Hot Yoga: Moshka

What: An environmentally conscious studio, Moshka's large open room with exposed beams and great lighting is full of vibrant energy. A full-length mirror covers the entire front wall, so that each student can focus on their own postural alignment. Moshka yoga encourages thoughtful thinking, inner focus and fun!

Why: Because you sweat like a dog and feel great! All the teachers are positive, articulate and don't take themselves too seriously.

What: A beautiful 3 story Studio in the middle of Larchmont Blvd. (one of my favorite streets in LA). Selective in its teacher training process, you are in good hands no matter what teacher or level you choose. With a variety of levels offered daily, everyone can find their perfect match…. yoga match that is.

Why: Because after an 1 ½ hour of good yoga, you feel like you are on top of the world. Your head is clear, you mind is focused and your body is floating.

Spinning: Soul Cycle

What: Ok, so it’s the trendiest new work out in Los Angeles, but I must say, it's pretty awesome. I love the dark room and candlelight…. a very positive improvement from the spin classes I’ve taken in the past.  In just 45 min you get seriously sweaty…love that!!    

Why: Wearing spinning shoes, which they provide for you, gives you an even full body workout rather then having the movement be dominated by your be quads.  With motivating music and energetic teachers, just when you feel like you can’t ride one more minute, they distract you with upper body weights and rave music…my kind of distraction!!

What: a great ½-1 hour hike smack in the middle of the Hollywood Hills. Why: For me, it’s the perfect length and incline, without the constant panting so you can still enjoying casual conversation with your friends and loved ones. But don’t worry you’ll still get sweaty on the way up. If you look for it, you may even get a glimpse of Hollywood sign. At the peak of the hike, you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic 180% view of Los Angeles.
